Getting into the craft beer movement, one brew and tasting at a time

me and my belgian dubbel

My name is Daniel, and I enjoy home brewing in my free time.  Original, right?  Until January 2012, I had only brewed with friends and their equipment, as I did not have my own.  Like many aspiring home brewers I finally decided to take the plunge and put together my own kit to develop and hone my skills.

Also like many home brewers out there, I have dreams of starting a nanobrewery or brewpub.  The purpose of this blog is to share my experiences transparently along the way.  I hope to provide aspiring home brewers (from beginner, up to those thinking about getting into the business) with simple information and tips from a guy that is just figuring it out himself.  I also wish to relay information about local craft beers that may inspire you, and also advice from those who have “made it” on how to start the business.

I know I don’t know everything about brewing, and that’s kind of the point.  I’m here to learn along with you:  To share my successes, failures, and experiments in my quest to make beers that define me.  Though this is called “One Man’s Beer,” there are certainly people who have influenced me into pursuing home brewing and helped to teach me by allowing me to brew with them.  Brewing is never just about one person, it’s about collaborating and enjoying one another’s company.  The concept of this blog is about my journey in home brewing, and  I’m sure I will continue to work with and learn from many people along the way.

If you’re interested in brewing beer, DIY projects for all grain brewing & kegging, learning about appreciating beer, or are looking into staring your own nano/microbrewery in the future, subscribe to my blog so I can share my successes and failures with you.

Just wanted to tell your thank you Daniel for this site. I just decided to brew my own beer about a month ago and still in the gathering information phase.

This site has many projects I was thinking about doing, and they are almost all here, every step laid out with pics.

Thanks again dude,

Michael
